Pretorius Blomme began in 1987 when Willie and Petro Pretorius purchased two adjoining smallholdings in Modder East Orchards, just outside Delmas.
What started with four greenhouses, a small team and a determination to grow quality flowers developed into the family flower farm that Pretorius Blomme is today.
Their son Leon later joined the business and today manages the operation, while the next generation has also become part of the family business.
Grown for quality. Harvested for freshness.
Over the years, Pretorius Blomme experimented with and grew a variety of flowers. Spray chrysanthemums ultimately became the farm’s signature product.
Today, chrysanthemums in numerous varieties and colours are grown under greenhouse conditions for the cut-flower market, with careful attention given to plant health, growing conditions, harvesting and quality.
